God Cares About HER

God Cares About HER

“The woman” is marginalized in almost every part of the world. In some of the countries practicing Sharia law, when a man and woman are caught in adultery or prostitution, both are often not punished. Only the woman is. Neglect of women occurs in marriages, mosques, churches, workplaces and more. As you watch this continue in the world, you start to think that perhaps even God does not like the women. But that cannot be more untrue.
I am reminded of a certain story of a woman named Tamar who was married to the first son of a big time patriach in Jewish history, Judah. The young man died without having a children with his wife. In their culture, she was to marry the immediate younger brother so as to have children for the first son. She did, but this brother was not in the mood to have kids that would count towards his late older brother but not towards him. So whenever he had intercourse with her, he made sure she could not get pregnant by him. Tamar of course wanted to have a baby. I bet she was not all about being passed on from man to man either, but what could she do? Culture is culture. She did not have a voice. She just watched this man use her body but not give her what would make her happy. God was not happy with what he was doing to Tamar so He made him pay. Judah’s second son soon died too and freed Tamar. Judah was now scared that if he gave his third and youngest son to her, he would die too. I bet he was looking at her like she was bad luck, not trying to find out what his sons were doing wrong. Young miss, Tamar, was tired of waiting on Pa Judah. She took matters into her own hands.
Tamar planned and executed a scheme to have Judah sleep with her without his knowledge. She took in and went back to the family house pregnant. When the people of the land found out she was pregnant, they were going to punish her for whoring. She proved that Judah was the father of her children and was forgiven. She got her children! God saw her through.
So, next time you feel that God hates us women, know that He does not. He fights for her! Women, we are not alone!
